Light of the World
Jesus Christ testified: “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness” (John 8:12). Through Christ, we may see people and things in their true light, with the clarity of “charity…the pure love of Christ” (Moroni 7:47). President Gordon B. Hinckley urged us all to “let love become the lodestar of our lives… because of the love of God our Eternal Father and His own beloved Son, our salvation from the bonds of death is sure and our opportunity for eternal exaltation is certain. Let that divine love, shed on us, be reflected from our lives onto others of our Father’s children.” Do you know how to find the lodestar, or North Star? You can find it in this painting.
“He lives, my one sure rock of faith, / The one bright hope of men on earth, / The beacon to a better way, / The light beyond the veil of death” (Hymns, 135).
